01. Save a Life
Call us, or another licensed rehabilitator, immediately when you have discovered an animal in distress. Gloves should always be used when catching and containing. The animal must be secured in a container they cannot escape from with an old tee shirt or fleece material. Please remember to use gloves when handling wildlife. DO NOT give anything by mouth, including water. The animal should be kept warm, dark and quiet—away from people and pets to minimize stress.
02. Be a Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Nutmeg Acres! We are always looking for help. Volunteer opportunities include feeding and cleaning, administrative, transport, event planning and grant writing. Please send us an email if you would like to find out more information.
03. Make a Donation
As a nonprofit, volunteer organization, NAWR budget goes to provide food, veterinary care, medicine, and housing for the animals we care for. We rely entirely on individual donations, business sponsorships and private grants. We receive no state or federal government funding. Your financial support is greatly needed and appreciated!
04. Spread the Word
We invite you to follow us on Facebook where we share animal updates and provide education regarding wildlife and wildlife conflicts.
